When talking about teams on the bubble there are several of them that are entering key stretches to define their season.
Southern California, Florida State, and Texas A&M are three teams running out of time and chances to make the tournament.
Southern California (21-9): The Trojans should be very confident of their chances to reach the NCAA tourney as they are reaching this key stretch in good form as they are playing at a higher level and forcing a lot of turnovers. They picked up a huge win on the road against Utah to win their fourth straight game and earn their second straight victory on the road. They close the season on March 3, at home against the UCLA Bruins.
Florida State (19-9): The Seminoles confidence is fading after getting blown out 92-72 by NC State on the road. Those are supposed to be similar teams so the score difference should not be as big at the end of the game. Even more concerning is that the Seminoles’ last quality win came in January, so there is room to be concerned. The Seminoles play Clemson tomorrow on the road and need a win to avoid their fourth loss in the last six games. The close the season on March 3, against Boston College in Tallahassee.
Texas A&M (18-11): The Aggies can’t feel very confident right now after losing three out of their last four games. They are dealing with recent suspensions and dismissals, which means that an already thin rotation will get even thinner. The Aggies began the season with high expectations and now that they’re failing to meet them they seem to be running out of gas. They did win their most recent game, on the road against Vanderbilt (89-81), but their next game is tomorrow, once again on the road. This time they face a difficult matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs before getting to close the season on March 3 at home against Alabama.
