If you’re curious about which newly drafted players from the 2012 NFL draft have the best shot at becoming starters for their teams in the upcoming 2012 NFL season, wonder no more! We have your answers right here. Sit back, and learn all about the top 5 impact picks!
1.Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts: First up on our list of NFL Draft 2012 predictions for the upcoming season, we’ve got the appropriately named Andrew Luck! Luck may be young and baby-faced, but he’s no innocent when it comes to being a stellar quarterback. During his football career at Stanford University, he was the recipient of the Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award, was named the player of the year, and even ended up as the runner up for the Heisman trophy two years in a row. Many other past honors prove him to be a wise and obvious choice for an anemic Colts offense.
2. Robert Griffin III of the Washington Redskins: Another quarterback from the 2012 NFL draft takes our next spot. Griffin played through college at Baylor University, and there was much speculation by NFL pundits over who should be the #1 pick, Luck or RG3. He beat out Luck and took home the Heisman Trophy in 2011 but ended up as #2 at the draft. Griffin is sure to be the team’s franchise passer, but other choices leave much to be desired, making the 2012 NFL season up in the air for this team!
3. David DeCastro of the Pittsburgh Steelers: A former team-mate of Luck, DeCastro spent his college days playing for Stanford University. He is a linebacker, and one who in his young life has already been the recipient of All-American honors. Obviously, he was a smart choice for the Steelers, and those who weren’t hopeful for how the team would fair in the NFL draft 2012, were pleasantly surprised at this wise choice.
4. Matt Kalil of the Minnesota Vikings: There’s not a whole lot to say about this offensive tackle. Really, all you need to know is that all the experts are saying he is the top offensive prospect of the entire draft. The Vikings are lucky to call him theirs!
5. Cordy Glenn of the Buffalo Bills and Justin Blackmon of the Jacksonville Jaguars: We jus couldn’t decide on one player so we have two names in our fifth spot, but we’ve got a tie! Glenn, a left tackle, and Blackmon, a wide receiver are both strong players in their respective positions and, like all the rookies on our list, are expected to be able to jump in and to fulfill immediate needs for their teams. Furthermore, they and the others on our list really seem to have what it takes to become long time starters.
