-LB Jabrill Peppers (Michigan): accumulated 66 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and one interception to go with one punt return touchdown and three touchdown receptions this year for the Wolverines.
-QB Lamar Jackson (Louisville): the Cardinals true sophomore led the nation with 51 total touchdowns, along with 3,390 passing yards and 1,538 yards rushing as he carried Louisville to the Citrus Bowl against LSU. The Cardinals had the nation’s highest-scoring offense with 45.3 points per game.
-QB Deshaun Watson (Clemson): finished his junior season passing for 3,914 yards with 37 touchdowns, to go with 524 rushing yards and six scores on the ground while guiding the Clemson Tigers to the College Football Playoff.
-QB Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma): he passed for 3,699 yards and a career-high 38 touchdowns this season while rushing for six scores as he led the Sooners to a Sugar Bowl date against Auburn.
-WR Dede Westbrook (Oklahoma): he was Mayfield’s go-to-guy and as result he amassed 74 catches for 1,465 yards and a school-record 16 touchdowns. He led the Big 12 in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns and yards after the catch (704).
The Heisman Trophy winner will be announced on Saturday night on ESPN.
