Whether you’re a fan of the Texas Rangers or not, you have to admit, if you’re being honest, that this team has a pretty good chance of victory at the World Series. First of all, the Rangers are just an indomitable team all around. They’ve got the likes of Colby Lewis, Matt Harrison, Derek Holland, Yu Darvish, and Neftali Feliz in their starting lineup. And speaking of top-notch players, don’t forget about Josh Hamilton. Sure, he’s had some rough personal things going on as of late, but as we’ve seen in the past, he knows how to turn things around for good when it comes to the game. Some fans are even speculating that Hamilton will be named Most Valuable Player this season, a nice confidence boost that could go a long way in spurring the team towards a win. No matter what happens with the MVP rumors, the team still can’t go wrong with players like these!
Also, as a clutch hitting team, you have to admit that the Rangers have got it going on! These players know how to hit a ball and hit it right! Sure, they might not be leading in terms of homeruns, but they make up for it in overall game success. Players who are particularly good at landing hits right when the team needs it the most include David Murphy, Michael Young, and Craig Gentry.
A killer pitcher certainly doesn’t hurt matters either. Darvish, whom we mentioned above, is rather new to Major League Baseball. However, he knows several different pitches, all of which he has purportedly perfected. Plus, he’s got a killer arm. Nobody ever knows exactly what Darvish is going to do, and it’s that element of surprise that works so well for the team.
Of course, when it comes to baseball, nothing is ever certain. While there definitely isn’t any reason we can think of why this team shouldn’t take home the victory, you can never be 100% sure until the game is played and the results are in. However, the buzz is that the Rangers want this win badly, and a healthy dose of desire often goes a long way towards success.
