Connor Cook led the Spartans (12-1) in a series of 22 plays that left the table set for the one yard touchdown from Scott. The entire defensive squad from Iowa tried to stop Scott but were not able to. Iowa (12-1) lost for the first time this season. Five times in the last 2 minutes, the Spartans centered the ball from the Iowa 5-yard line or closer. Finally, after being slowed down by three defensive in the third-and-goal from the 1-yard line, Scott opened enough space to cross the goal line with the ball for the only touchdown in the game for Michigan State.
