Tim Tebow the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback was cut according to two people with knowledge of the decision, they spoke on an anonymity condition because the team has not announced the decision. NFL teams had until Saturday afternoon to set their rosters for the start of the season.
Tebow seemed to have secured the third quarterback position when the Eagles traded Matt Barkley to the Arizona Cardinals. However, coach Chip Kelly got rid of Tebow shortly after the quarterback had his best performance of the preseason against the New York Jets.
The 2007 Heisman winner, awarded to the best player in college football, tried to return to the NFL after two seasons without playing.
Minessota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings must deal with the absence of their starting center, John Sullivan, at least during the first eight weeks of the 2015 regular season due to a back injury, through an official statement the organization of the Vikings recognized they entered the graduate of the University of Notre Dame on the injured reserve list, Sullivan underwent a lumbar microdiscectomy to repair the damage that has left him inactive for the past three weeks.
The veteran has held the position for the franchise for the last six seasons and missed only three games, Joe Berger will be responsible for covering the sensitive low.
“As a player, you never want to lose time. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding your absence, you feel guilty for not fulfilling your responsibility with your teammates, coaches, organization and fans, giving them all the best in the field each Sunday, ” said Sullivan.
In a statement released by the Vikings official website the experienced center took the opportunity to wish the best to Berger, who hopes “will do a great job leading our offensive line, protecting the best young quarterback and open spaces in the running game.”
“I am very disappointed to miss the first half of the 2015 season promise I will do everything to recover, return as soon as possible to the grid and help Vikings win their first Super Bowl championship,” he added.
