One of the biggest, most attractive, options available for bettors just itching to get in on the maximum NFL wagering experience is to be found at the LVH SuperBook in Las Vegas. The Vice President on LVH, Jay Kornegay, said in a recent interview, “The LVH SuperContest is the most prestigious pro football handicapping contest in the world.”
LVH SuperBook will begin taking action on this years’ version of the popular contest on July 1st and traffic is expected to be heavy. Kornegay added, “The popularity has skyrocketed over the last couple of years and set a record with 745entries last year. The cash prize pool was over $1,100,000 for the first time, and we expect the growth to continue for 2013.”
Some of the world’s most capable handicappers will be lining up to get in on this exciting annual event which is now eagerly anticipated to throughout the industry. It ain’t exactly cheap. The price of the entry fee is now set at $1,500… but then this is the biggest and the best handicapping tournament there is.
2013 could very well see over 800 entries in the contest which lasts all season long. More entries means more money in the pool so that this year the SuperBook has upped the number of payout prizes from 20 to 30 winners. The number one overall winner will be receiving a generous 35% of the pool.
Conservatively, figuring just 700 entrants and a pool of around $1,050,000, the top winner would receive a nice take home of around $367,500. Not a bad payday!
In order to win, the bettors must pick five games against the spread each week of the entire pro football season. The player with the most correct picks wins the top prize. Second place will win 14% of the pool which should come out to be around $150,000 with third bringing home somewhere in the neighborhood of $74,000 or 7%. The numbers keep going down after that but even the last four winners, numbers 27-30, will be up around $3,200… more than double their wager.
Additionally, the LVH SuperBook has offered up a couple of other little wagering options to sweeten the pot. Putting up prizes of $15,000 each the book will reward any bettor who is successful in selecting over 67% on the winners and another 15 dimes for a mini-contest run for the final three weeks of the season.
