Two NBA megastars dominated the month of February. LeBron James and Stephen Curry have been named Players of the Month in the East and West conferences. James shined with his Cavaliers, but the main attraction was Curry and the Warriors, as he again broke some records. The awards for February stayed twice in Akron.
Curry was amazing so nothing has changed really. Golden State won 9 of his 10 games and averaged 36.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 7.3 assists. Nobody had averaged as many points in one month (playing in at least 10 games) since Kobe Bryant made 40.4 points in March 2007.
The current league MVP threw for 54.9% in field goal and 53.6 from the triple and had 2 games with 50 or more points. In addition, Curry tied the record for triples in a game (12), became the first player to link 2 games with 10 or more triples (10 + 12), surpassed the previous record set by Kyle Korver with most consecutive games scoring at least 1 triple and achieved the highest number of triples from a single player in a season when there are still many games left in the regular season.
Nominees from the West. Anthony Davis (Pelicans), Chris Paul (Clippers), Damian Lillard (Blazers), Kawhi Leonard (Spurs), James Harden (Rockets) and Chandler Parsons (Mavericks).
-LeBron wins in the East
LeBron won the award in the East. Cleveland won in February 8 of their 13 games, although James balance was better with an 8-4.
The star of the Cavs averaged 24.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.7 steals with 49.6% in field goal. The forward scored 4 double doubles and 1 triple-double, his first season. And it was the only NBA player in February to do a 07-07-20 (points-rebounds-assists) along with Russell Westbrook.
Nominees from the East. Isaiah Thomas (Celtics), Kemba Walker (Hornets), Brook Lopez (Nets), Kyle Lowry (Raptors) and John Wall (Wizards).
