This Quarterback has had a very colorful career to mention not only his involvement in what seemed like a never ending scandal, that to be honest was quite infamous, but the more positive part of his career and spectacular numbers in the NFL for a player that is already an icon would there be a future secured for the player beyond what already seem like the last seasons in the eyes of many critics.
Tom Brady said his days in the NFL may be far from over. and as his legacy, statistics and career are in the history books already, can we believe or assume that Brady can hold another -let’s say- 10 years in the league?
At age 38, we must recognize that Brady is having a valid season, to contend even as being recognized as MVP this year, but we can remember the spectacular season that Peyton Manning had just a year ago, and now his level is far from what he delivered last season, he is validly criticized this current season with having a weak arm and even his age is a chance for discussion. It would be impossible to discuss the fate of a player on the field.
Brady might get injured tomorrow in training and finish his career much sooner than we all thought, or even expected, perhaps a worse fate for the player would be to follow Manning steps and be only remembered as the quarterback that ‘was’ at one time, excellent, but if the Patriots quarterback stays healthy, could he really play well when he is 47 or 48 years old?
We can start by the preceding players and what ages have been maybe past the limit, the oldest player in the NFL, among others, Morten Andersen, the historic kicker for the Atlanta Falcons who retired at age 47, or of course George Blanda who played as quarterback and kicker throughout his career which ended at age 48. The position was clearly very different for both players just kicking the football, instead of handling an entire offensive while securing your safety inside that pocket, is a much more physical and mental endeavor and takes a clear toll.
