Roger Federer and Gael Monfils were tied at one set all when their French Open fourth-round match was suspended for bad light, they will resume in Monday’s second match on Chatrier at around 12:00 BST, they both walked onto Court Philippe Chatrier at 19:13 local time after a day of rain interruptions, Switzerland’s Federer won the first set 6-3 in 29 minutes, but Frenchman Monfils retaliated to take the second 6-4 before the weather suspended the next set.

Andy Murray has challenged himself to raise his level when he plays Frenchman Jeremy Chardy for a place in the French Open quarter-finals on Monday, the Briton, seeded third, faces the world number 45 in the second match on Court Suzanne Lenglen at around 12:00 BST, the pair have met seven times, with Murray winning six of those matches, including on clay in Rome on 13 May, The winner of Monday’s match will play Spanish seventh seed David Ferrer or ninth seed Marin Cilic, of Croatia, in the quarter-finals, Andy Murray saw off the threat of big-hitting Australian Nick Kyrgios in straight sets to reach the fourth round of the French Open.
