There are lots of NBA players out there who are worthy of taking note of. One player in particular is Derrick Rose. Rose plays for the Chicago Bulls, and rightfully so, as this young player was born in Chicago. He first experienced basketball success in high school where he won two state championships and was named as the top point guard prospect in the United States. Rose would go on to play for the University of Memphis Tigers and to declare for the 2008 draft. This is when he was selected by the Chicago Bulls. Rose went on to be named Rookie of the Year, to be an NBA All Star, and to achieve many other honors, including last year’s most valuable player award.
Another well known and much discussed player is Dwayne Wade. Wade currently plays for the Miami Heat, and like Rose, has enjoyed some prestige. This includes being named the 2006 Sportsman of the Year, and being the 2006 NBA Finals most valuable player. Now, both of these awesome players are, more than likely, gearing up to face each other in the upcoming NBA playoffs. It’s hard to say whether it will be Derrick Rose or Dwayne Wade who leads his team to victory, but most experts are putting their money on Wade to be the victor. If this does happen, it will mean a bright future for the Miami Heat, and a downturn for the Bulls, who haven’t had a player as strong as Rose since Michael Jordan himself was on the scene.
The reason most people in the know are looking toward Wade and the Miami Heat as the victors in the NBA Playoffs is simple: Wade is a better player all around. While Rose is a strong player, he is also young and somewhat inexperienced. While he has done quite well for a relative “newbie,” he just doesn’t have either the playing power or skill set of Wade, who has proven himself time and time again. If, however, Rose can step up his game and show that he’s more than just a flash in the pan player, perhaps he will get the support of the gambling public as he enters the playoffs. Whoever comes out victorious we expect these two NBA titans to faceoff in the playoffs, regardless of who wins it will be an awesome series.
