NFL Football is finally back as the Chicago Bears and the Baltimore Ravens meet tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET in the 2018 Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio.
The game, which marks the start of the NFL preseason and will take place at Tom Benson Stadium, is part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s induction ceremonies.
The Game will kick off the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week as the NFL prepares to celebrate its newest class of enshrinees.
The 2018 Hall of Fame Class includes safety Brian Dawkins, wide receivers Terell Owens and Randy Moss, linebackers Robert Brazile, Bryan Urlacher and Ray Lewis and guard Jerry Kramer. Former NFL executive Bobby Beathard was included as contributor.
The newly elected Hall of Famers were chosen from a list of 18 finalists who had been determined earlier by the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Selection Committee.
The Ravens are making their first-ever appearance in the Hall of Fame Game while this year’s game will mark the fifth time that the Bears will play in the preseason classic.
Chicago has a perfect 4-0 record in previous trips to Canton with victories over the Miami Dolphins (27-24 in 2005), Cleveland Browns (13-0 in 1990), New York Jets (20-6 in 1977), and Dallas Cowboys (30-24 in 1968).
The Ravens are the slight favorite for this game as oddsmakers have them at -2.5 (-120) in the spread and -145 on the moneyline, with the comeback on the Bears at +120. The total for tonight’s game is set at 33.5 with both the under and the over coming at -110.
The Ravens Joe Flacco is set at starting quarterback and won’t play in this game, but Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson and Robert Griffin III will split reps with Josh Woodrum at the game as they all battle for the backup spot.
Bears’ starting running back Jordan Howard won’t see any action tonight as neither will Quarterback Mitchell Trubinsky. Jim Harbaugh will instead use Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray as the main signal callers in tonight’s game.
