The parents of 14 year old Dylan Moses of Baton Rouge couldn’t be more delighted. They knew that their son was a good football player. Big and strong for his age but how could they have guessed that two of the nation’s top universities would be offering him full scholarships before he was even out of the eighth grade! Wow!
Dylan has already posted times in the 40 yard dash of 4.46 which would put him in good standing with those athletes who just finished the NFL Combine last week.
He also does a 34 inch vertical jump. In everything that young Moses does, both on and off the field, he continues to exceed the already high expectations set for him.
Moses attends University High School in Baton Rouge which, as the name implies, is located adjacent to the LSU campus. Coaches from Les Miles’ staff began hearing about Dylan taking the short trip over to watch him play since he was 10 years old…and they were impressed enough to began talking scholarships.
When asked about his son’s new found popularity with two of the most famous college football coaches in America today, Dylan’s father, Edward Moses Jr., replied, “How does it feel?” “The days are definitely brighter knowing that he already has two offers of that caliber. You’re talking about the team that was No. 1 in the nation at the time last year (LSU), and then seven or eight months later, the three time defending national champions offer him scholarships.”
Check out his film clips on YouTube. They have already received over 500,000 page views! The kid can play football, no doubt. No wonder these top schools are lining up to make bids for his services. Dylan is 6’1” tall and weighs in at 215, but remember, he is only 14 years old. So far his work outs have consisted primarily of pushups, sit-ups and endurance work. Just wait until he gets in the weight room next year and starts working with some real professional coaches.
College is still 3 long years away for Dylan Moses. His Dad summed it up by saying, “In a nutshell, we don’t have time to worry yet about what college to go to.”
Stay healthy Dylan and best of luck for a fantastic future.
