Race number 12 at Del Mar on Saturday is the Breeders’ Cup Classic, the “big one” of the 2017 Breeders Cup World Championships.
This is set to be one of the best Breeders Cup Classics in a long time and all horse racing fans, gamblers, and bookies should be looking forward to it.
Regardless of whether your betting it or just viewing it, this race will be very exciting and sports agents should be promoting it among their clients to try and get some well-earned extra cash.
Probably most of your clients will be thinking about betting on college football now that the College Football Playoff Rankings have come out, but please do remind them of this great two-day event as it involves the “richest two days in all of sports,” as $28 million will be handed out in purses and awards this weekend among the winners of the races.
When the Breeders’ Cup was Created in 1984 as the year-end championship for North American thoroughbred racing it consisted just of seven races. Now in 2017, it will be held at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club for the first time and has evolved to become a $28 million extravaganza.
Even if your clients do not bet on horses regularly tell them about the Breeders’ Cup as it is the perfect event to introduce them to the sport and make them regular horseracing bettors.
This event now has 12 races, giving your clients ample opportunity to choose from and bet on before the big one comes around.
Race number 12 is arguably the most anticipated race of the year because it will probably decide the horse of the year and gives Gun Runner one last chance to be Arrogate.
Gun Runner is the favorite at 9/5, but Arrogate (2/1), Collected (6/1) and West Coast (8/1) are all close behind his heels in this 11-horse race.
Seven months ago, probably almost everyone agreed on calling Arrogate the best horse in North America after it defeated Gun Runner at the Dubai World Cup, but things have changed considerably since.
Gun runner has been doing everything right since the Dubai World Cup defeat with victories at the Stephen Foster Handicap, at the Whitney Handicap and at Woodward Stakes.
With West Coast and Collected also among the favorites, it’s evident that this is slated to be one of the Breeders’ Cup Classic most open fields ever.
Take advantage of this exciting two-day event to introduce your clients to horse racing and encourage them to bet the horses regularly. They won’t regret it and neither will you!
