The Kansas City Chiefs had an overall record of 2-14 in 2012 and currently hold this year’s #1 draft position but the Chiefs have not given so much as a hint as to who or what they are planning to do with this golden pick. The Chiefs were very active in the offseason and made some key moves geared towards competing in the AFC West. The Chiefs hope that QB Alex Smith can be a solid addition and be their starter for the 2013 NFL season. The Jacksonville Jaguars are sitting on this year’s #2 NFL draft pick and they could actually use help in most every area including quarterback. Pay per head experts are betting that if available the Jags might take QB Geno Smith out of West Virginia with their top pick.
The Oakland Raiders have the #3 pick in this year’s draft thanks to a putrid 4-12 season. There was some speculation with those betting the NFL draft that the Raiders would also be in the market for a quarterback until they acquired Matt Flynn from the Seattle Seahawks. The Raiders will probably either look towards the defensive side of the ball or simply trade away their pick for later considerations.
The Philadelphia Eagles are a team in disarray and are looking to get back on track in 2013. Pay per head experts say that the Eagles might also be in the market for a quarterback but really need to think more about their offensive line it remains to be seen which way the Eagles will got but those betting on the NFL draft are banking on the Eagles choosing a quarterback.
The Detroit Lions are currently holding onto the # 5 pick in the 2013 NFL draft thanks to a surprisingly awful 4-12 2012 NFL season. The Lions shored up their offense with the addition of Reggie Bush. The Lions are in need of defensive secondary help and there have also been speculations that they made even trade down for future considerations.
