NFL Future Bettors Wonder Who Will Be The MVP In The NFL?

by admin on Thursday, December 13th, 2012

NFL LogoAfter the New England Patriots totally dominated the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football, Quarterback Tom Brady was looking more and more like a candidate for the NFL MVP for 2012.  Brady threw 4 touchdown passes in the 42-14 trouncing of the Texans who came into the game with 11 wins and only one loss to the Packers back in October. Houston has dominated everyone else that they played until they arrived at Foxborough on a cold and rainy evening to take on the Patriots who are on a 7 game winning streak and appear to be, once again, arriving at their peak just in time for the playoffs.  Brady certainly does deserve consideration for the MVP award.  He is in his 13th year in the NFL and has racked up 3833 yards passing so far this year scoring 29 touchdowns with only 4 picks.  His overall value to the Patriots is abundantly obvious. He posted a 125.4 passer rating in the Houston game highlighted by a flawless 63 yard pitch and catch to wide receiver Dante’ Stallworth in the third quarter.

Tom Brady looks ready to roll, again.

Everyone knows that Adrian Peterson is going to get the ball but no one seems to be able to stop him.  Peterson is averaging 6 yards per carry and is the NFL’s leading rusher with 1600 yards racked up so far.  He has scored 10 touchdowns and has only lost 4 fumbles all season long.  Peterson ran for 154 yards on 31 carries against the Bears last Sunday and scored 2 touchdowns.  If nothing else, he should be way up there for comeback player of the year after suffering a serious knee injury last season.  For him to get the MVP award the Vikings are going to have to get into the playoffs but, that may be easier said than done.

How could we even be talking about MVP’s without bringing up Peyton Manning. Peyton showed up in Denver after missing all of 2011 due to injuries and has now evolved as the dean of NFL quarterbacks.  Former Bronco Quarterback John Elway, now the Broncos GM, was a major mover in bringing Manning onboard at Denver this year and it seems to be working out well for both parties.  He has shown us all that he is still one of the greatest quarterbacks in the game. Peyton has 3812 yards passing with 30 touchdowns so far this year.  He threw for over 300 yards against the Raiders this past Sunday.

No MVP poll would be complete without him.
