More and more sports books, both in Nevada and offshore, are offering a mobile betting app for their clients these days. It is the logical move and one that will only continue to expand as the technology develops further.
The wagering apps are now available for iPads, iPhones, Android and Android tablets and are usually a free download to players. The big British book, William Hill has been offering the app for some time now and it is widely believed that any bookie not making the app available to their players will soon be out of business.
Modern gamblers have become accustomed to fast, easy to access and easy to use wagering options and they are not going to accept anything less. If your service is not up to date and dependable, you players will be looking for other options… no matter how long they have been playing with you.
A Nevada sports book called South Point has just become the latest operator to offer a mobile betting app at its five Nevada locations including 4 in Las Vegas. There is even a new site on the web where players can go to ask preliminary questions that they might have concerning the new apps.
Currently a $100 deposit is required to get started with the new app and while there is no restriction on out of state folks signing up…the device can only be used within the confines of the state of Nevada….for now at least.
The only types of wagering not allowed on the new apps are Parlay Cards and Horse Track wagering. Some of the big books on the Las Vegas strip seem to be depending on the tourist trade action in their locations and have not as yet made the apps available to their players. These include major houses such as the MGM Grand and Caesars.
An interesting side note to Las Vegas sports action, a new outfit known as Strip Sports Betting is setting up to cash in on the fact that most sports bars are packed with adult males with disposable income by combining the concepts of a sports bar and a strip club where the action is sure to heat up during a big game.
If at first this might seem a bit out of hand, just look at what the cheerleaders…bless their hearts….are wearing to the games these days.
