The Irish came out throwing but they quickly fumbled the ball and Alabama recovered but the play was over turned Note Dame kept the ball but they quickly went 3 and out and punted. Alabama took over and for the third consecutive time drove right down the field for another touchdown to make it 21-0.
In the second quarter Notre Dame quickly drove into Alabama territory and but went for it on 4th and 5 and turned the ball back over to Alabama! On the ensuing drive Notre Dames defense stepped up and finally forced Alabama to punt the ball. Alabama scored again before the half to make it a 28-0 on the verge of a rout!
