Tiger Woods is on a roll… is he ever. He is dating an Olympic Ski Champion and he has won two major events in a row. All of a sudden, Tiger is the odds on favorite to win the upcoming Masters in April at 11-4. That even better than 3-1!
Woods made an impressive come-from-behind victory out on the Bay Hill course over past weekend. At one point he was one shot behind the leader…and then bogeyed the last three holes. Oh well, such as that just seems to provide inspiration for the Tiger. What a comeback he made impressing his fellow golfers as well as the enthusiastic gallery.
Woods seems to be in a happy place these days after going through so much turmoil in the past few years and it sure hasn’t hurt his golf game. Now he is back to the number one spot again. He is no longer limping and he is scaring the hell out of the competition. By the end of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, there was even a little swagger in his stride along with that big smile.
“He looks a lot more comfortable out there. He doesn’t really miss many shots. And if he does, it’s not by a whole lot,” said Rickie Fowler, “You know when another guy is playing well and he’s on top of his game,” Fowler added. “He’s got a little something.”
But remember last year, Tiger won at Bay Hill, was favored to win the Masters… and ended up tied for 40th place so, you never know. However, Woods looks much better this year and a whole lot happier… could be that the new girlfriend has had a positive effect on the man, it’s happened before.
When Tiger was asked about this, he replied with a grin, “You’re reading way too much into this.”
April 11 will find Tiger Woods and the rest of the golfing world in Augusta, Georgia for the Masters. At this point Woods is the favorite at 11-4 with Rory McIlory coming in next at 9-1… big difference! Rounding out the field are Phil Mickelson at 11-1 and Brandt Snedeker, Charl Swhwartzel & Justin Rose, all at 18-1.
When he was asked when the last time that he felt so good was going into the Masters, Tiger responded, “It’s been a few years.”
